Business KPIs Documentation

This page aims to provide a clear documentation of the business KPIs initiative within the DWH world.

Introduction

Business KPIs is an initiative started around end of May 2024. With already some figures around sources of revenue that were being finalised by the end of that month, and some already existing but dispersed, not fully qualitative legacy reports, the Data team started to centralise and lead the KPI definition and exposition for the top management team first, and the rest of the company later.

Delivery strategy

During the first stages, the goal was to provide batches of deliverables in time-framed periods based on 1) figures feasible to deliver, 2) with a certain “good” level of data quality and 3) that could help provide a proper understanding of the business direction.

All these batches have been discussed and agreed on with the top management team (TMT), and can be accessed here:

Reporting Needs

Additionally, the abovementioned page contains many more details on the metrics, dimensions and ways to visualise KPIs. Keep in mind that the definitions and extend of whats available might not be always up-to-date or at least fully complete since its an iterative process on constant evolution.
