## Final final interview for real
I interview with a gazillion people, including Andrei, Filipe, the CTO and CPO.
- Growth plans for business figures and for company/team headcount. Are we going to keep growing hard short-term, or am I coming in at the end of the hiring spree?i
How much growth is new feature/product market fit, how much is just selling the same thing more
Blue ocean market
Focused on pricing and reporting
How linearly does your sales/support growth
That's something
Tell them how much money you're saving
is that 6 weeks inspired by the guys from basecamp?
- How do you see the split of effort in running operations vs aiming for new experimental stuff both for this team and for the wider company?
- Is growth from now funding driven or profits driven?
- Could you tell me a bit about the stories of the two engineers you are planning on placing in the team?
- Who would I be reporting to, how do Engineering Managers and Product Managers organize
- How are you handling funding-driven-growth, ensuring you are not wasting money down the drain. How to avoid the chaos of many different squads independently managed compare to where you come from (a small focused team)
Very european, non vc approach. Equity

I'm excited about joining. Some of you don't know, but I was previously the data lead for a small SaaS that also operated by delivering services to small operators via their PMSs. I had a blast running the team and I see many similarities with this opportunity. Also, I really like the pricing domain. I think it's a little tough domain where you can createa lot of value for many people with a small team and a bit of good technology. What's not to like about it?
## Final interview
I interview with Andrei and Lars.
Andrei Data and integration side
Lars responsible for growth
My questions:
- On the company:
- What does the distribution of equity look like? Is only Five Elms invested? Who has the majority?
- Is it profitable already?
- How many people working currently?
- What is the growth trend? Figures of volume/sales/etc + plans
- VC-grow and sell, or looking to become a cash cow
- On the vacancy:
- How do you see the future for this vacancy? What are the growth opportunities?
- What's the contract type you are offering?
- Truly, 100% remote.
- My expectations are somewhere between 90-110K€ gross per year. Does that work? Also, how is compensation structured? 100% fixed or something else? Equity?
- What is the story around the vacancy? Is it replacing a departure, or expanding the team? Who are these engineers working with right now?
- How are the teams organized, and how does this vacancy and its team fit into that picture?
- On the product:
- How much revenue comes from direct delivery and how much comes from partners?
- Is it more of a backend and just deliver via PMS, or do users typically spend a lot of time in their RoomPriceGenie app?
- How is the interview process organized?
- Software stack
- Productivity stack
- Engineering frameworks practices? What is the freedom each engineering manager has?
- Do you guys do on call rotations?
Dagster/Snowflake/Cube.js/

50% growth
4000 hotels

My rethoric on why change:
- Galoy was a risky bet and now I'm realizing it's not going in the direction I would like.
- I don't want to invest more time in a project that I don't think it's getting places. It was great but now I'm looking for something more mature.
- I miss leading a team
- I miss the beautiful pace of the B2C-ish company
My rethoric on why RoomPriceGenie:
- I understand the value proposal of the product and it's great. I've somewhat familiar with the domain and think a solutions like yours makes all the sense.a
- I've been in all sorts of companies regarding size, I think the size you're sitting at right now is the one I crave now
- You have some pretty good glassdoor ratings
- I like working for international, distributed companies. I see you guys have a gazillion
My rethoric on why this vacancy:
- Data work on a company and product like yours is super fun
- Hands on + leading team is where I enjoy myself the most
- Projects by other teams are growing in data volume and can't sustain it anymore
- Working with a product manager, quarterly planning, new features, etc.
- Create a hotel in roompricegenie, fetch data from similar locations (40tb of data per month), prepare data for revenue management, which does the pricing
- current problems
- done six years ago, with a backend mentality
